The HMT Arfon was a 227-ton steam trawler built in 1908, South Wales. On 30 April 1917, while sweeping for mines laid by German U-boats off the Dorset coast, the Arfon struck a mine south of St Alban's Head. The explosion caused the vessel to sink rapidly, resulting in the loss of ten out of thirteen crew members.
The wreck of the Arfon remained undiscovered until 2014. It lies upright on the seabed at a depth of approximately 43 meters. Despite damage to the bow from the mine explosion, the stern and amidships sections are remarkably well-preserved, with features such as the mine-sweeping gear, deck gun, portholes, and engine room still intact.

Unfortunately guided dives are not available for this day boat, so you MUST have the above requirements.
Ropes away are at 0930 from Custom House Steps, please give yourself plenty of time to load your gear onto the boat and park your car. Please note, the arrival time back on land is approximate.
All dives are, of course, weather permitting. You will be given at least 12 hours notice if the day needs to be cancelled and a full refund will be given. If you haven't heard from us beforehand please assume the day is going ahead, we may not be able to reply to any messages you send to us.
Any diver booking on must be qualified to dive as per the requirements stated at the time of booking or your booking will be cancelled and refunded (minus admin fees). Refunds will only be given if a replacement for your space can be found. Please read the terms & conditions (on the next page) for more information.
PLEASE NOTE:
This is a 2 dive day, you will need sufficient gas with you on the day as the boat will not be coming back to shore to refill cylinders inbetween dives.
If you require any kit hire please advise us at the 'kit requirement' stage of your booking. Kit hire is not included in the cost of the day, payment is required in cash on the day as we don't have a portable card machine. Your total owing will be confirmed before the day, any Enriched Air requirements will require proof of qualification.
