NQT Course - 3 Day & 5 Day programme

The NQT Course will be delivered over 5 days during the academic year. It will provide NQT's with knowledge, experience and training in key areas of professional development that will include;

Day 1 - Working in a church school (28th September 2018)
What does it mean to work in a church school? The day will provide first hand experience with visits to three schools to see RE and worship.

Day 2 - Inclusion, Safeguarding & Behaviour (14th November 2018)
Exploring vulnerable groups, including SEN and PP. Overview of safeguarding and strategies for behaviour management will be covered during day 2.

Day 3 - 'Surviving the first year' (4th February 2019)
To include sessions on managing workload, classroom management, working with support staff and parental engagement

Day 4 - Curriculum (3rd May 2019)
The day will include assessment and moderation, delivered by subject leaders in the morning. A wider curriculum session, to include forest school and the creative curriculum in the afternoon.

Day 5 - Reflection & Next steps (28th June 2019)
A final day to review key learning from the first year of teaching and looking ahead to next steps.
