The Dr Kellyn Dementia Care Community is delighted to welcome Rikki Loretti for an expert webinar exploring depression, anxiety, sleep difficulties and distressed behaviour in people living with dementia.
Changes in mood, sleep and behaviour can be incredibly difficult for families to understand and respond to. Medication may sometimes form part of a person's care, but families can be left with questions about why particular drugs are being prescribed, what they are intended to help with, and what other approaches might be considered.
During this webinar, Rikki will help us explore:
What types of medication may be prescribed and why
Some of the challenges associated with using medication for people living with dementia
Non-pharmacological approaches that can also be considered
Understanding and responding to depression, anxiety, sleep difficulties and distressed behaviour
Rikki brings a wealth of knowledge and experience from more than 40 years in nursing, including 12 years as an Admiral Nurse Practitioner working across young-onset dementia, acute care, social care and primary care.
He also holds a postgraduate diploma in Health Professional Education from the University of Huddersfield and a diploma in Person-Centred Care from the University of Worcester.
This promises to be a fascinating and practical session, giving families a greater understanding of some of the approaches that may be used when a person living with dementia experiences changes in mood, sleep or behaviour.
Join Dr Kellyn and Rikki for this informative and supportive expert webinar.
