Ilkley Triathlon

The Ilkley Triathlon is our club-run sprint-distance event held every year since 1992 (apart from 2020), making it one of the longest running triathlon events held in the UK. It has a reputation for being a friendly race, ideal for novices and first-timers, with great support all the way around the course. However, the course is still a challenge for more experienced athletes. A testament to its popularity is that it has won the UK “Race of the Year” on multiple occasions. It’s normally held on the 2nd or 3rd or 4th weekend of September so is one of the final races of the season.

We are renowned for having the most friendly, approachable & encouraging marshals & volunteers who make our award winning event run safely and smoothly. Club members make up our volunteer team for some part or all of the day. Many club members also compete in the event and also help out either before or after their race. If you are new to the club or have not volunteered before, it’s a good way of meeting others and doing your bit for your club.
