Math Circle Leader Program (Grades 7 & Up) | First Cycle – First Semester (2026-2027)

This facilitator training is open to middle school and high school students, college students, teachers, and adults interested in leading math outreach sessions for Orlando Math Circle (math festivals, schools, and Boys & Girls Club of Central Florida).

Important Requirement:
To receive a certificate, participants must complete all parts within the same monthly cycle:

• Attend Online Training Session 1 AND Session 2 in the same month (June 3 & June 4)
• Complete and submit the community outreach requirement Partial completion does not qualify for certification.

Program Structure (6–8 hours per cycle):

• Online Training Session 1 (55 min): Join an online math circle led by an expert leader and learn the activity.
• Online Training Session 2 (55 min): Practice leading the math activity with an expert facilitator and learn math pedagogy techniques that engage students in discovering new concepts.
• Community Outreach (1–2 hrs, online or in person): Lead a math activity with elementary students and reflect.

Steps to Earn Your Badge/Certificate:

• Attend both online sessions in one cycle
• Cycle 1: June 3 & 4 or
• Cycle 2: July 8 & 9
• Complete the Canvas module
• Complete a community outreach project
• Submit a video
• Submit a transcript of your video (Upload your transcript to the OMC chatbot and review your feedback)
• Earn 10 volunteer hours upon completion
