Wellwoods Outdoor Play continues for summer 2026 😃
Session running from 10am - approx 11:30am
'Nature is the finest playground'
Wellwoods is an outdoor play experience held in Greenhead Moss Nature Reserve.
It is a fun, relaxed space where families have the freedom to get muddy and explore the natural world.
Our fun play activities include;
Habitat hunt
The mud kitchen
Den building
Tree swings
Animal tracking
Woodland crafts
Family outdoor games
Mini-beast hunt
Not to mention building a lasting relationship with the natural world. The adults also enjoy the opportunity to connect with each other and the outside space.
The sessions are aimed at young children to pre-school age but children up to age 8 are welcome - older siblings can come along too!
BOOKING IS ESSENTIAL. Please complete the booking form. Please note only one ticket is required per family, not per child.
Please note OutLET staff are there to facilitate the session. Adults attending will remain fully responsible for the children they bring along
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
In these difficult times it's important to us that all our programmes are either FREE at the point of use, or as affordable as they can be, so that families who are in financial hardship are still able to benefit from these sessions.
We are grateful to have received funding to support this programme. However, funding is limited - and we can only continue to run until the funding ends out so we need your help!

There is a small car park across from the entrance to the nature reserve. We will meet on the grassy area beside the entrance and make the short walk together to the site. The site is accessible and buggy-friendly.
Please be ready to set off at 10am.
It is possible to get buggies into the woods but you will need help so please ask a staff member.
We recommend wearing layers (as it's always cooler under the trees) and sturdy footwear.
We understand that sometimes life gets in the way - if you can no longer make it, please let us know ASAP as we expect that these sessions will be popular and may have a waiting list
