Course Schedule & Format
• Duration: 1 day – approximately 6 hours
• Daily Timings: 09:30 start, 16:00 finish
• Attendance: Mandatory for all sessions; no exceptions for late arrival or early departure
• Delivery: The course is delivered using a PowerPoint presentation and class discussion. Delivery would normally take place in a classroom setting; however, this may be adjusted in accordance with learners’ needs and/or local circumstances. Learners may be asked to complete some pre-course reading; therefore, an hour of self-study and preparation has been added.
• Modules: Unit 1 Emergency First Aid in the Workplace
1. Understand the role and responsibilities of a first aider
2. Be able to assess an emergency safely
3. Be able to provide first aid to an unresponsive casualty
4. Be able to provide first aid to a casualty who is choking
5. Be able to provide first aid to a casualty with external bleeding
6. Know how to provide first aid to a casualty who is suffering from shock
7. Know how to provide first aid to a casualty with minor injuries

What to Bring
• Equipment Provided: Manual (available for purchase), pens, pencils, notepaper
• Recommended: Comfortable clothing (trousers and flat shoes)
• Identification: Valid photo ID (passport, UK driving licence, etc.)
Special Considerations
• Injuries: Inform the instructor or the Sierra27 office if you have any injuries that may affect participation.
• Learning/Physical Impairments: Notify instructor or office before the course for confidential support arrangements
