Rights and Rights Restrictions 💻

Throughout history, we have seen people experiencing lack of choice, freedom, and the ability to assert their own rights. In Minnesota, we believe strongly in the power of rights for all people supported. This session is dedicated to reviewing and understanding the rights that people have through 245D licensed services. It is a privilege as a provider to help people understand and assert their rights!

Topics:

• 245D service-related and protection-related rights including those rights specific to residential sites
• Providing an explanation of the rights to the person and/or legal representative
• Person-centered practices that focus on finding alternatives to a right's restriction
• Staff training requirements on the rights of persons supported
• 245D documentation requirements for a rights restriction

Through strong understanding of 245D rights and their implementation, people supported can have greater power and authority of their own lives than ever before. You can be a strong advocate for every person you support and this session will move you in that direction.

Audience: Designated Coordinators, Designated Managers, Program Directors, or anyone who is responsible for compliance through out the organization.
