Curious about cold water dipping but not sure where to start? Or maybe you’re a regular dipper who’d love some like-minded company?

Join The Wellbeing Circle for a relaxed morning by the water at Cockburn Reservoir, guided by our qualified open water swim coach.

Together we’ll:

🌿 Gently prepare with yoga stretches and breathwork
🦶 Ease into the water at your own pace – even just a toe dip is welcome!
🧊 Try a supported loch dip, with tips and reassurance from an expert
☕ Warm up with hot drinks, snacks, and friendly conversation

No experience needed – all welcome!
Come as you are, move as you feel, dip as much or as little as you like.

Attendee Instructions for Cold Water Dipping with The Wellbeing Circle

Thank you for booking your spot! We’re looking forward to welcoming you for a relaxed and refreshing morning at Cockburn Reservoir.

To help you prepare, here’s everything you need to know:

What to Bring:
   •   Swimwear (whatever you feel comfortable in – swimsuit, wetsuit, or even just clothes you don’t mind getting wet)
   •   Towel and warm layers (including hat, gloves, thick socks, and easy-to-change clothes)
   •   Water shoes or old trainers (the ground can be uneven and cold)
   •   Yoga mat or blanket (for breathwork and stretches)
   •   Flask with hot drink (optional) – we’ll also have some warm drinks and snacks available
   •   A camping chair or waterproof sit mat (if you’d like to sit post-dip)

What to Expect:
   •   A gentle start with guided yoga stretches and calming breathwork
   •   A safe, supported introduction to cold water dipping, led by our qualified coach
   •   No pressure – you’re welcome to dip a toe or go for a full-body immersion
   •   Time to relax, warm up, and connect with others afterwards

🚗 Parking Options

  1. Dumyat Car Park / Lay-bys (off Sheriffmuir Road)
       •   Drive along Sheriffmuir Road (B822) from Bridge of Allan or Dunblane.
       •   You’ll find the Dumyat car park and several lay-bys near the start of the walking path to the reservoir.
       •   This is the most commonly used spot and marks the nearest parking to the water

  2. Pendreich Car Park (aka Cocksburn Reservoir Car Park)
       •   Located about 5–10 minutes’ walk from the water.
       •   Often referred to as Pendreich on maps and blogs. It’s slightly further from the reservoir but still a great option .

  3. Bridge of Allan Railway Station Area (Blairforkie Drive)
       •   An alternative parking option if the above are full, especially on busier weekends.
       •   Park on Blairforkie Drive near the railway and walk to Sheriffmuir Road to join the reservoir path (lifts can be arranged from here on request)

🧭 Route to the Water

Once parked:
1. From Dumyat Car Park / Lay-bys – Take the well-maintained footpath heading west toward the reservoir (left after turning onto the path) .
2. From Pendreich – Walk downhill (~5–10 mins) toward the loch using woodland paths .
3. From Blairforkie Drive – Follow the road past the golf course, turn onto Sheriffmuir Road, then join the path to the reservoir

🕒 Parking Tips
   •   Arrive early, especially at weekends—parking spaces fill quickly

   •   These are free outdoor parking spots; no charges apply.
   •   Maintain awareness of local signage and avoid blocking farm gates or private drives.
