Harrys Garage 🇫🇷 Perfect Road Trip to the South of France, Nice & Monaco!

Szczegóły

Harrys Garage 🇫🇷 South of France
June 2026
Duration: 10 days (including Eurotunnel travel)
Dates: Friday, 12 June – Sunday, 21 June 2026

Scenic drive through Northern France, Massif Central, Provence to the French Riviera
Here we rest for a couple of Nights, enjoying Nice & Monaco
On the return we take in Loire & le Mans via the famous Napolean Route as we aim back north.

Inspired by the legendary Harry Metcalfe and his epic “Perfect Road Trip to the South of France” — watch here — I have spent a few weeks designing a WWOW Supercar Club journey takes that idea & turns it into a full-blown summer adventure we all want to do!

We’ve plotted a route through the most beautiful, least obvious, and most grin-inducing roads France has to offer — the kind of roads that make you fall in love with driving all over again

FOUR Early Bird Places available for just £1,490pp (based on two sharing a room)

France, it turns out, is full of hidden gems: flowing tarmac through vineyards, sinuous alpine passes, river gorges that echo with the sound of a V8 (or V12 if you’re lucky), and quiet medieval villages where lunch is always a little too good.
This isn’t just about speed — it’s about style, sound, and the shared joy of exploring the open road in great company.

We avoid the boat that Harry takes, jumping onto Eurostar for ten days & 9 nights at stunning hotels …This is proper grand touring — supercars, scenery, and South of France Sunshine!
So, buckle up, grab your shades, factor 50 and get ready to place your towel on a sun lounger on the sandy white beaches of Nice & take a coffee in Casino Square at Monaco Baby!

Day 1 — Friday, 12 June 2026
Arrival → Valenciennes
Eurotunnel arrival at Calais in the morning. Drive ~1.5 hrs to Valenciennes via A16/A26/A2.
Distance: 130 km | Drive time: 1h30
Your grand tour begins at the Royal Hainaut Hotel & Spa, where marble halls and vaulted ceilings make you feel like you’ve arrived in a Bond film — only with better parking. Once the Eurotunnel adventure fades behind you, the open roads of northern France stretch ahead, smooth and inviting

Day 2 — Saturday, 13 June 2026
Valenciennes to Bourges
The route south to Bourges is pure warm-up: big skies, rolling farmland, and roundabouts that test your geometry as much as your throttle control.
Arrive at the Hôtel de Bourbon Mercure, a former abbey turned elegant rest stop. Its cloisters echo gently as you walk in, still buzzing from the day’s drive. Dinner under the arches feels positively divine — though the real sermon here is about cornering lines and engine notes.

Day 3 — Sunday, 14 June 2026
Bourges to Sainte-Énimie (Gorges du Tarn)
Today the landscape begins to twist, and so does your grin. Heading toward the Gorges du Tarn, the roads feel designed by someone who truly gets driving — sweeping bends, perfect cambers, and hardly a traffic light in sight. Villages flash past in a blur of stone and flowerpots, each more photogenic than the last.
As you descend toward Sainte-Énimie, the river glimmers like a mirror for your car’s curves. The night’s home, Château de la Caze, awaits in full medieval glory — turrets, bridges, and the faint echo of your exhaust bouncing off 15th-century stone. It’s the kind of place that makes you wish you’d arrived in a cape, not a crash helmet.

Day 4 — Monday, 15 June 2026
Sainte-Énimie to Gréoux-les-Bains (Provence)
Leaving the gorge behind, the road unfurls into wide Provençal valleys perfumed with lavender and freedom. The D-roads here are a Supercar dream — graceful, flowing, and just wild enough to keep things interesting. Stop in Moustiers-Sainte-Marie for a café and a quick photo of your machine framed against limestone cliffs.
At day’s end, Villa Borghese in Gréoux-les-Bains welcomes you with the sort of serenity you can only appreciate after a spirited drive. The pool glows, the terrace beckons, and you realise: this is what grand touring was invented for

Day 5 — Tuesday, 16 June 2026
Gréoux-les-Bains to Nice
The legendary Route Napoléon calls, and what a call it is — every curve feels like an invitation. Long, smooth sweepers through the mountains, sun flashing through the trees, and just enough open straights to let your supercar sing its full aria. You’ll descend toward the Côte d’Azur with the sort of grin that makes strangers suspicious.
Hotel Gounod in Nice brings you back to civilisation — or at least Riviera-style glamour. Art Deco elegance meets the rumble of passing Ferraris, and your car feels instantly at home among the palm-lined boulevards. Sip something cold, watch the sun dip, and know you’ve earned this view.

Day 6 — Wednesday, 17 June 2026
Nice (Riviera Rest Day)
A well-earned day off, though “rest” might be generous. Perhaps a gentle run to Monaco, or a jaunt up to Èze for coffee with a view that’ll melt your clutch foot. Nice offers a blend of indulgence and inspiration — a coastal city where even the traffic lights seem to wink approvingly at supercars. Return to Hotel Gounod for a night of Riviera elegance, where your machine slumbers beneath Art Deco arches, dreaming of mountain hairpins.

Day 7 — Thursday, 18 June 2026
Nice to Uriage-les-Bains
Time to climb. The mountains beckon, and the ascent north is nothing short of spectacular. This is one for the drivers — crisp air, winding switchbacks, and the hum of tyres on perfect tarmac. Each corner rewards precision; each straight tempts excess. Take a break in Castellane or Grenoble, then press on to your sanctuary in the mountains.
The Grand Hôtel & Spa Uriage welcomes you with spa-town grace — think roaring fires, deep baths, and staff who understand that “cooling down” applies equally to brakes and humans

Day 8 — Friday, 19 June 2026
Uriage-les-Bains to Le Mans
The longest stretch of the journey — a true test of stamina and style. Cross-country cruising through forests and farmland, pausing for espresso and photo ops. Somewhere between Clermont and Tours, you’ll realise the French really do build the world’s best D-roads.
Your destination, the iconic Hôtel de France at La Chartre-sur-le-Loir, is a living shrine to racing history. Aston Martins, Jaguars, and legends of Le Mans once slept where you will tonight.
The bar is a time capsule of glory days and racing tales — order something old-fashioned and raise a glass to heroes’ past.

Day 9 — Saturday, 20 June 2026
Le Mans to Tilques
Explore the Circuit de la Sarthe, where ordinary roads once hosted extraordinary machines. Visit the museum, walk the pits, and realise that this isn’t just a racetrack — it’s hallowed ground.
As we depart the Hôtel de France enjoy the rare feeling of parking on a forecourt where champions once posed for press photos.
Heading north, we chase the setting sun. The roads soften again — open straights, lazy bends, and charming villages perfect for one last French lunch. There’s an easy joy in this leg, a sense of winding down without slowing too much.

Pull up to Château Tilques, a fairytale finale for your week of driving dreams. The gravel crunches, the lawns gleam, and the château rises like the final scene in a movie you’ll never forget.

Day 10 — Sunday, 21 June 2026
Tilques to Calais (Eurotunnel Home)
A calm, reflective end to a roaring adventure. Early light glows across the bonnet as you roll toward the Eurotunnel. Even the motorway feels different now — as though France itself is nodding goodbye.
There’s time for one last espresso and a shared look between driver and co-pilot: a week well lived, a journey well driven. As the train hums beneath the Channel, you’ll already be planning the next one
