Scurry Dog Foundation Skills/ Level 1 Games.

Scurry Dog is a new and FUN sport adapted from working gun dog skills. It is made up of five fun games derived from different aspects of gun dog roles in the field, which have been adapted to place YOU at the centre of the FUN. So, if you have an active pet dog with a busy nose, ears that don't work and way too much energy this is the right sport for you.
The foundations skills course provides you and your dog with an opportunity to build the skills of arousal regulation, focus on you, working in proximity with you and growing confidence to work away from you.
Scurry Dog Games are Retrieve, Scramble Grid, Nose Quest, Sniffit Trail and Every Day Dog; foundation skills are the building blocks required in all 5 games, but also grow skills which are essential in every day life.
Retrieve builds trust, the ability to sniff out items holding your scent helps to locate dropped or mislaid items such as car keys. Every day dog grows the skills of settle, useful whilst you stop and chat or enjoy a coffee in a cafe. Every Day Dog grows skills of wait, stay and stop; an emergency stop may also save a life, your dogs life.
Whistle cues and long distance handling are grown from these basic skills and are required and developed over time as you progress through the 5 levels of each Scurry Dog Game.
Come along and have fun with your dog, no worries if your dog doesn't yet retrieve or isn't yet steady in the face of distractions, each skill can be grown and each training game can be adjusted to your puppy or dogs current skill level, ensuring that you enjoy the day and each others company.
