Details

The Educational Visits Coordinator (EVC) course is a national qualification accredited by the Outdoor Education Advisor panel, and is led by approved trainers who are members of OEAP and specialist advisors in outdoor educational visits and trips.

The course is aimed the key member of staff in school who holds the oversight responsibility for all outdoor education visits, trips and learning outside the classroom ventures offered by the school. The EVC is the first point of contact for advice and guidance for teachers within that school, and thus the EVC is ensuring the Employers duty to provide appropriate advice, guidance and access to training for staff leading such visits.

The course covers:
• The purpose and benefit of offsite learning and outdoor visits
• The legal duties and responsibilities of the visit leader, EVC and Head teacher / Governing bodies
• Planning and managing a visit
• Risk management of off-site ventures
