This festival event is to get sailors together to experience sailing, either as a new beginner or in their first event away from their home club. The focus is on a fun festival atmosphere celebrating sailing and meeting sailors from across the region.
The idea behind the events is that it is an opportunity for new sailors to experience an event away from their initial place of learning, or for a way for people to access our sport and then be signposted to places where they can continue to learn.
Targeted at junior sailors, there will be a mixture of coaching with some potential race type activities and most importantly a fun introduction to an event. The event is a ‘kit-bag’ type event where attendees only need to bring clothing that they are happy to get wet in. They will not need to bring a boat, this will be provided, and if needed we can look to support with buoyancy aids and potentially wetsuits.
Please note that you must be at least 8yrs old but under 14 on 31st December 2022 to participate in this festival.
Please bring clothes you are happy to get wet in and a change of clothes for afterwards. If you need a buoyancy aid and/or wetsuit then please let us know and we will try to get this organised for you.
Please also bring your lunch and water/diluting juice to keep hydrated throughout the day.
