Scent Level 2

Take your scentwork skills to the next level in this six week progression course, designed for dogs and handlers who have completed Scent Level 1 or have equivalent scentwork experience. Building on the foundations you've already developed, you'll introduce a second target scent - gun oil, teach your dog a clear and reliable indication, and tackle a wider variety of exciting search scenarios.
Throughout the course you will:
- Develop your dog's confidence while learning to handle more complex searches
- Vehicle searches
- Outdoor searches
- Buildings
- In addition to tables and chairs and boxes and bags
As your dog's skills grow, you'll also refine your handling techniques, improve your ability to read subtle changes in behaviour and strengthen your teamwork as a scent detection partnership.
By the end of the course you'll be ready to join Scent Squad, where you'll put your skills into practice through varied, fun and challenging searches in new locations.
This course includes:
- Six weekly practical training sessions
- Introduction to a second target scent (gun oil)
- Teaching and developing a clear indication
- Digital session notes and homework after each class
- Video feedback through the training app
- Support from your trainer between sessions
- Preparation for Scent Squad
Instructions
What to bring:
- Please bring plenty of high value treats ( chicken, ham, cheese, hotdogs)
- Lead and collar
- Poo bags.
Long lines will be provided during the course and fresh water for the dogs is also provided.
