Welcome to our Forest School sessions, where children aged 8-12 years old can embark on a journey of discovery and connection with nature.
At our Forest School, we believe in the power of nature connections and the endless benefits it brings to children's development. Through a range of engaging activities, such as wild arts and crafts and learning new skills, we aim to foster a deep appreciation for the natural world while encouraging creativity and personal growth.
Our experienced team of facilitators will guide your child through exciting adventures in this beautiful nature reserve. From building shelters using natural materials to identifying different plant species, every session is designed to ignite curiosity and inspire a lifelong love for nature. Join us at our Forest School and watch your child thrive in an environment that encourages exploration, imagination, and hands-on learning.
These weekly sessions are funded by Lewisham Mayor’s Green Fund, and kindly supported by the Friends of Garthorne Road Nature Reserve.
Please note that these are drop off sessions.
These sessions take place outdoors. The children should come prepared for all weather. Please let us know if you don't have wet weather gear for the children as we may be able to provide these, with prior notice.
Children should bring a refillable water bottle with them, and are welcome to bring snacks, if they wish.
**** Please note that this venue does not have a toilet. If your child feels confident enough to have a wild wee they may do so, but we don't have anywhere for them to do a "number 2" *****
