INSTRUCTIONS
WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING? TERMS & CONDITIONS

Your dogs lead and harness. Retractable leads, slip leads, electric shock collars, spray collars, half check collars, pronged collars and head collars or any device that causes discomfort, pain or fear are not acceptable.
High value treats. These must be NON CRUMBLY. Cocktail sausage cut into 4 is good. NO TUBED SOFT CHEESE LIKE PRIMULA as it contaminates the search area. Later you may be asked to bring “sticky ham”. This is the very cheap wet looking wafer thin ham from supermarkets.

You dogs water bowl and water. Sniffing can make them thirsty.
A sense of humour. Dogs learn at different speeds just like us. As long as you are both having fun it’s ok.
Family members are always welcome in our classes but we require just one person to train your dog in class. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
Please keep your dogs on leads at all times unless otherwise directed by your trainer.
The fun of training in a class is likely to excite your dog so keep a firm hold of your lead.
Please be respectful of other dogs and their handlers and ask the owner’s permission before approaching or allowing your dog to approach others – not all dogs are comfortable around other dogs or people. Dogs must be kept on lead at all times unless directed otherwise by us. COVID 19 If you have any symptoms or tested positive with covid, isolating, been abroad or been in contact with anyone that has Covid symptoms, please stay home. We must all do whatever we can to protect us and others Selby Sniffers. Please follow Government guidelines.
TRAINING AREA. We may be inside or out so make sure you have appropriate clothing.

PAYMENT
With signing-up for any services provided Selby Sniffers K9 Scentwork payment is expected immediately. If not done so, Selby Sniffers K9 Scentwork reserves the right to refuse participation in the service you have signed up for. In addition, until fully paid for no place is confirmed and therefore can be open to others taking that place if they agree, sign up and pay first. It’s “first come first serve”.
Fees and prices are subject to change without notice. Price at time of booking applies.
All services/courses/workshops must be prepaid. No admittance will be allowed unless the course fee has been paid in full. Payment is to be made by bank transfer.
CANCELLATIONS
• FOR THIS EVENT THERE ARE NO REFUNDS . YOU MAY ADVERTISE YOUR PLACE FOR SALE ON SELBY SNIFFERS K9 SCENTWORK TRAINING GROUP PAGE OR COMPETITION SCENT DOG TRIALS FACEBOOK PAGE.
• IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO ARRANGE PAYMENT FOR THE ABOVE AND TO LET ME KNOW THE CHANGE OF HANDLER AND DOG.
• Selby Sniffers K9 Scentwork has no control over the weather. If you feel you can’t attend due to the weather, you will forfeit that training session.
• COVID May disrupt training. We have to follow Government guidelines at all times.
• Selby Sniffers K9 Scentwork reserve the right to amend, reschedule or cancel training. This may be due to many factors including Covid, weather, illness or unforeseen circumstances.
• Selby Sniffers K9 Scentwork will not be liable for any losses or expenses arising from amendments to the course or cancellations

THE TRAINER/ORGANISER WILL DETERMINE THE LENGTH OF THE EVENT/SESSION
based on the progress of each participant and their dogs as well as the number of participants and the physical and psychological capability of each dog. The trainer will act in the best interest of the dog and can therefore order a rest for a dog or put a halt on further training sessions. If the participant is late for the event/service, it is their own responsibility and the trainer/organiser will not stop/pause the event/service because of this. The participant is not eligible to make up for any missed hours/days or get a reduction of cost because of such.

HEALTH OF DOGS
Only healthy dogs are allowed to participate in any event that Selby Sniffers K9 Scentwork is offering. The participant insures that the dog is free of diseases and agrees that should their dog be found have any contagious disease such as the likes of kennel cough shortly after participating in anything organised, hosted or run by Selby Sniffers K9 Scentwork to let the organiser know at the earliest opportunity so that other course participants can be informed. If a bitch comes or is in season, the event/service organiser has to be informed. If a dog falls ill shortly before or during the event/service, the trainer/organiser is to be informed immediately to discuss further action and prevent a possible disease from spreading.

KENNEL COUGH PROTOCOL Kennel Cough is a highly contagious canine illness and causes inflammation of the upper respiratory system. YOUR DOG MUST NOT ATTEND TRAINING if their symptoms include a harsh dry hacking cough, retching, sneezing, snorting, gagging or vomiting. You should isolate your dog for around 14 days. To protect our clients you can not attend training for 3 weeks (21 days). Your dog can not attend training if it lives with or been in contact with an infected dog.

LIABILITY AND INSURANCE

The participation in any events/services offered by Selby Sniffers K9 Scentwork is at your own risk which means the insurance lies with the participant/s themselves. The participant is fully liable for any damages/harm done by either themselves, their dogs or the people that came with them. Selby Sniffers K9 Scentwork and the organiser/s and trainer/s, instructor/s do not take ANY responsibility for ANY damage/harm done to a person/s or a thing/s (e.g. buildings, cars, dogs, personal belongings etc.). The participant takes the full responsibility for his/her dog/s, even if acting upon instruction of a trainer/s or organiser/s.
You are fully responsible for your own and your dogs` actions. Selby Sniffers K9 Scentwork cannot be asked to take over any costs for damage or harm done to you or your dog/s. Selby Sniffers K9 Scentwork takes all reasonable precautions within the structure of our training sessions/workshops/courses to avoid injury resulting from dog bites. Selby Sniffers K9 Scentwork accepts no responsibility for damage or injury resulting from dog bites occurring to clients or their dogs while attending training sessions/seminars/courses/workshops/121’s or any other forms of training offered. The Control of Dogs Act 1986 section 21 – “Liability of owner for damage by Dog” applies within our classes/seminars/workshops/trainings/introduction courses or any other training offered by Selby Sniffers K9 Scentwork and on our premises or public premises (rented from a third party or owned).
All instances of accident or injury must be reported to the dog trainer/instructor at the time they occurred.

Voice recordings and videos of any event/service have to be permitted by Selby Sniffers K9 Scentwork.
DISCLOSURE AGREEMENT
Any individual participating in introduction courses, seminars, workshops, instructor courses, trainings or any other services that are offered by Selby Sniffers K9 Scentwork or any of their instructors, agrees not to conduct/hold/offer such or similar, to the general public or another business or third parties. This specifically includes Scentwork or Tracking introduction courses, Scentwork or Tracking workshops, Scentwork or Tracking training events within two consecutive years after the event. This agreement be changed.
