We’re excited to welcome our friends from Open Theatre back to work with us at Maple House
Open Theatre has developed a unique non-verbal physical theatre practice. It it starts from the young people themselves, enabling them to discover who they are, what they can do, and how they can connect through a practice developed and determined by them. It builds confidence, develops skills and independence, and equips young people to communicate and create with others, reshaping how society sees and values their creativity.
The session will run in two groups. While one group is participating in non verbal theatre the other group can enjoy our relaxed Stay & Play offer at Maple House School, with access to the hall, outdoor areas, and the dining/community room.
The session is fully child‑led, with a wide range of toys and equipment available. Children can explore, play and unwind in a safe, secure environment while grown‑ups get time to chat and relax.
This summer we’re also introducing brand‑new sensory equipment, including a spinning seat, dark den, weighted blankets, vibrating cushions, additional visuals and talking buttons.
On arrival please access school through the Community Garden on Bournville Green where you will be met by a SEND Socials representative who will check you in to the session.
Please note: We do not offer childcare and parent / carers are to remain with their child(ren) and upport them at all times for all of our sessions
