At Little Starz Play & Sensory Starz (SEND) Middlesbrough, we believe every individual — from babies to adults — deserves the opportunity to explore, move, and thrive in a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment.
We offer a range of Stay & Play sessions for babies through to children aged 12 years, alongside SEND-specific sessions designed to support additional needs. Our sessions are carefully planned to ensure every family can find an environment that feels right for them.
Our purpose-built sensory room, gymnastics and play spaces, and role play village are designed to engage children through light, colour, texture, sound, movement, and imaginative play. All sessions support physical, emotional, and social development while encouraging curiosity, confidence, and calm.

Sensory Room
Our sensory room provides a calm and engaging space for sensory exploration and regulation, featuring:
- Soft play and climbing equipment
- Sensory swings and tunnels
- Ball pit and crash mats
- Light-up panels, bubble tubes, and projectors
- Water bed and fibre optic lights for calm relaxation
- Trampoline and balance equipment for movement and coordination
- Textured walls and tactile panels
- Dark room for focused sensory experiences
- Fiddle toys, sensory toys, and exploration baskets
- Calming corner with beanbags, soft lighting, and gentle music
Role Play Village
Our role play village is a dedicated imaginative play space where children can dress up, explore different roles, and engage in creative and social play. This area supports communication, confidence, and imagination in a relaxed, child-led environment.
Gymnastics & Play Spaces
Our gymnastics and play areas allow children to climb, bounce, roll, balance, and explore safely, supporting coordination, strength, confidence, and physical development.
👶 Stay & Play Sessions (All Children)
Our Stay & Play sessions are open to babies through to children aged 12 years and provide access to all play and sensory areas. These sessions are lively, welcoming, and ideal for families looking for a fun, engaging environment where children can play freely at their own pace.
🌈 SEND-Specific Sessions
We also offer SEND-specific Stay & Play and movement sessions for children and young people with additional needs.
These sessions:
- Run with reduced numbers
- Are quieter and calmer
- Allow more space, time, and flexibility
- Provide a supportive and understanding environment tailored to individual needs
🎉 Parties for All Children
We offer a range of parties for all children, designed to be fun, inclusive, and fully tailored to your child’s interests and needs.
All parties include exclusive use of the entire building, with no other families or sessions taking place at the same time, allowing for a relaxed and private celebration.
Party options can include:
- Cheerleading activities led by our experienced coaches
- Gymnastics-based play and movement
- Disco Dome bouncy castle with lights and music
- Role play village access
- Sensory room access for calm and regulation
Parties can be fully tailored to suit your child’s age, interests, and any additional needs.
🏫 Private Hire
We are happy to offer private hire of our facilities to groups, schools, nurseries, and community services.
Private hire provides exclusive use of the building, with access to our sensory room, gymnastics and play spaces, and role play village. Sessions can be tailored to suit the needs of your group.
