Details

This class is for people wanting to learn about screenprinting, on paper or on fabric. We are using a process easy to replicate at home. You will learn to:

  • prepare an image and frame for printing, using a stencil or a speed screen, including vector drawing software and using a cricut for stencils;
  • practice printing on paper;
  • learn about different inks and dyes to print on fabric.

We will provide designs inspired by the current exhibit on kimono design and Japanese prints at the Legion of Honor. You may also draw your own design.

This class is in partnership with Arch Supplies, which provides some of the materials as well as coupons for attendees interested in screenprinting at home.

Instructions

Your clothes might get paint stains during screenprinting. Please dress accordingly!

You may bring cotton clothes to screenprint. We are unable to print on polyester fabric.

We will provide white cardstock and green ink. Please feel free to bring your own cardstock or paper to screenprint.
