Spoonmaking and Engraving

Details

Dive into the art of spoon-making in our hands-on workshop designed for both beginners and seasoned crafters! Join us for a session where you'll learn to power carve and perfect your own small condiment spoons using a Rotary (Dremel) tool. Then everyone has a chance to customize their spoon with laser engraving. This class demonstrates how to make traditional objects with modern tools.
This workshop will guide you through the fundamentals of rotary tools, and mastering the techniques needed to create beautiful and functional spoons.

What You Will Learn:

Dremel Basics: Get to know how to use a variety of Dremel bits for carving and smoothing
Engraving: Everyone will have the opportunity to engrave their spoon with a design of their choice using our laser cutter
Finishing: We will finish the spoons with a coating of beeswax to seal and protect the wood

Instructions

16+ requires written permission for dependents

Powercarving is messy, even on really small objects. Wear something you are OK getting dirty. Because of the dust, we also require everyone wear a mask (which can be provided). This class is suitable for adults with full dexterity in their hands.
