This workshop covers the basics of the additional barriers that those labelled with intellectual, cognitive and developmental disabilities face in accessing their sexual and reproductive health rights.
We will explore societal and personal biases that create these barriers through dissection of what it means to "protect" peoples that are "vulnerable."
Participants in this workshop will leave with tools to start proactive sexual health conversations in their programming as well as tools to formulate a positive reaction when the topic of sexuality comes up unexpected.
Light refreshments will be provided at this workshop but no meal. Participants can bring their own lunch or go out during the break.
