RYA Powerboat Level 2 Course (Gift Voucher)

Learn how to drive a Powerboat and gain your RYA Powerboat Lv 2 License at Wembley Sailing Club.

RYA Powerboat Level 2

This two-day course introduces the basic concepts of power-boating, and is suitable for those looking to use a small powerboat independently in sheltered conditions. On completion, participants can apply to the RYA for an International Certificate of Competence.

During the course we will train you to use a range of powerboats, including tiller-steered Rigiflexes, wheel-steered, centre console RIBs and wheel-steered Dorys. You will be taught with a maximum instructor:student ratio of 1:3.

All weekend courses start at 09:00 and finish at 16:30. Please see joining instructions attached.

Assumed knowledge: This course is suitable for complete beginners. This course is for adults but we can accommodate under 16s by arrangement. It will be marked on the Powerboat Level 2 certificate if the participant is under 16 at the time of the course. Please email training@wembleysailingclub.co.uk if you'd like to make a booking for an under 16.

Ability after the course: Once you have completed the course you will be a self-sufficient powerboater in the right conditions, aware of your own limitations and those of craft you are using.

Course content: Launching and recovery, boat handling, securing to a buoy, anchoring, leaving and coming alongside, man overboard.
