The Simon Diffey Heritage Motorsport Apprentice Award Presentation 2025

Enjoy a sumptuous champagne and canapés reception while celebrating our fourth year Award-winner with the presentation of the Award’s beautiful and much coveted silver salver trophy.

We very much look forward to welcoming you to the Royal Automobile Club to celebrate the 2025 winner of the Simon Diffey Heritage Motorsport Apprentice Award. The Royal Automobile Club has joined the list of Supporters for the Award, and we are delighted to announce that the event will take place in the magnificent Mountbatten Room of the Clubhouse, a truly stunning setting.

The Award presentation will be made by Mr Clive Chapman, BSc (Hons) Eng., Managing Director of Classic Team Lotus. Our compère for the evening will be Amanda Stretton.

Motorsport anniversaries and Royal Automobile Club Rotunda display

As we celebrate our new Award Winner we will also remember two important motorsport anniversaries:

• 75 years since the first Formula One World Championship race held at Silverstone.
• The 60th anniversary of Jim Clark's 1965 World Championship win in the Lotus Type 33. We are thrilled to announce that Clark's winning Lotus 33 will be on display in the Rotunda of the Royal Automobile Club on the Award evening, with thanks to Classic Team Lotus.

Exciting Simulator Experience

An extra special treat this year will include the opportunity for some lucky people to race on a pair of Simulators in the Lotus Type 33 against some famous faces from our motorsport world. To level up the playing field the track will be the 1967 version of Silverstone! The lucky names will be picked out of a hat on the night. This limited opportunity is included in the ticket price.

Village of Opportunity

This year we have created an area named the ‘Village of Opportunity’, where a number of engineering and motorsport companies will be on site with their stands. They'll be delighted to talk to you about what they do and to give guidance to apprentices, or simply have a chat for the love of heritage engineering.
