This evening will be a collaboration between Su of Simply Yoga With Su & Kay of Grounded Sound.
You will have the opportunity to experience two beautiful & complimentary modalities; Yin Yoga & the deeply relaxing vibrational tones of a Sound Bath.
During the first part of the evening Su will guide you through a series of accessible Yin Yoga shapes. These will be a floor based practice & we will utilise props such as cushions for support & will invite gravity to assist us in these passive, longer holds which target our deeper connective tissues & the fascia that surrounds our muscles, rather than the muscles themselves. This style of practice is meditative & deeply relaxing & you will be encouraged to soften, quieten & notice throughout.
For the second part of the session you will be able to make yourself super comfy on your mat with blankets & pillows. Kay will guide you gently into deep soul-care time, where we will create a sacred space to be completely relaxed, fully present and still. You are invited to lie back and allow your whole body to rest and drop into deeper relaxation, connecting to the peace and stillness within ❤🌹 A soothing sound bath experience is pure peace and relaxation as you become aware not only of the sacred sounds but of the silence between them.
☯️ Get cosy and comfy and allow yourself to surrender to the beautiful soothing sound of silence and the soft and gentle sounds emerging from the silence and returning back to silence, enabling you to turn off your thinking mind and drop into a more meditative, still space. Allow Kay to bathe you in sound waves to bring your brainwaves into a restful frequency which is hugely beneficial for your physical, mental and emotional health.
A Grounded Sound sound bath is always a real tonic for stress, bringing deep relaxation to soothe and calm a busy mind. To allow you to just be in the moment, Kay plays her calming instruments intuitively and gently, creating beautiful ethereal effects with crystal singing bowls, Tibetan bowls, gong, drums, Native American flute, chimes, tongue drum, guitar and voice. The intention is to bring you back to your natural state of total calm and peace.
Please note this sound event is not recommended for the following: pacemakers, sound induced epilepsy, schizophrenia, severe tinnitus and any other sound sensitive health concern.
Please let me know if you are pregnant, as care must be taken in first and third trimester.
We will close the evening by gathering together for chai & home made raw chocolate.
If you have not attended a class with Su previously please complete & return the attached form prior to the session.
You will need to bring with you your yoga mat & any of your usual props (straps, blocks, bricks, bolster & blankets). You could improvise & pop two pillows into a pillowcase to use as a bolster.
During the first practice we will be moving slowly & lingering in long holds in shapes so it is likely that you will need to wear warm clothing, ensuring it something that allows you to move with ease. For the sound bath please bring blankets, thick socks, maybe eye pillows & whatever else you think would help you stay super cosy & comfortable for the duration.
