A movement workshop inspired by the cycles of protest and hope. Using sound, props and live music.
Rieckhof-Silva is an interdisciplinary collective exploring movement and costume relationships, Peruvian rituals, and tradition. Both are Peruvian artists living in the UK.
This session aims to enrich our sound, movement, and choreographic exploration with fellow dancers. As a group, you’ll be invited to work with shakers made from Lima Beans – instruments used in the performance Uproar and connected to traditional Peruvian practices. We will explore their texture, sound, and movement, and the the way they influence the body in movement. We will also work with ‘cacerolazos’ – a form of protest in Latin America where people bang pots and pans to make noise and express dissent.
This event will take place in our Research Studio. Find out about our amenities or watch a video tour of the building head to our visit us page.
