Join us for a fun, family-friendly lantern-making workshop inspired by woodland creatures! Choose one of three beautiful new lantern designs and create your own lantern to carry in the Cardigan Giant Lantern Parade.
Each booking costs £5 and includes one lantern. Each child aged 6–8 will work together with an adult to create a shared lantern.
Booking is essential.
Each lantern requires a 2.5-hour workshop session, available either in the morning or the afternoon. Please book your session in advance to secure your place.
-Build your lantern: Create your chosen woodland creature’s lantern frame using sustainably grown willow.
-Get creative: In the second half of the session, add glue and tissue paper to bring your lantern to life.
-Allow 2.5 hours: Each lantern takes one full 2.5-hour session to complete. Choose either a morning or afternoon session when booking.
-Arrive on time: Please arrive at the start of your session so you don’t miss the instructions and have enough time to finish your lantern.
-Dress for making: Bring an apron and wear clothes suitable for messy, creative activities.
-Adult supervision: All children under 11 must be accompanied by an adult.
Workshop participants are expected to take part in the Cardigan Giant Lantern Parade.
Please make a note of the following timings:

Small World Theatre
Bath-House Road

Small World does not have a car park. There are two public car parks nearby (Mwldan and behind the Guildhall). They are the perfect setting for a 2 minutes’ walk along the Mwldan brook and a flash warming session up the driveway. This is for the wellbeing of everyone, the staff starting their shift at Theatre Mwldan, and the emergency vehicles.
So please, do not use the driveway to drop off or pick up someone and transform it into a giant bumper cars ride: it is dangerous. Thank you very much for your consideration.
