Class Description

Roll a twenty with veteran D&D artist Scott M Fischer as he takes you through the stages of creating art for roll playing games like Dungeons and Dragons.

Scott has been contributing to D&D, in the pages and on the cover, for 20 years. He will apply that experience to your art, where you will create a variety of work, from conceptual designing monsters/heroes/weapons- to making interior style illustrations from those concepts- to finally creating D&D style cover with those elements. Whether you use traditional media or digital media, Scott is versed in both and will guide your hand each week via live paint overs and critiques.

The goal will be to finish the class with key portfolio pieces to show the gaming industry.

Towards the end of the semester the special industry guest will review student work.

Note: because of the small class size you can also opt for an independent study. Scott has been a popular instructor for years because of his depth of experience in many fields: children's books, comics, gallery work, and more (see his bio). If you want to pursue other visions, Scott is more than happy to work with you on an individual basis within the small group.
