Southdown Airsoft offers a variety of game situations for players of all abilities. With the remarkable topography of the 95-acre site. You as the player will encounter a variety of structures, barriers and defences located within the forest which you can use to your advantage as you battle your way to victory.
What is airsoft? -
Airsoft was first invented in Japan in the early 1980s as the answer to the American craze of paintball. Airsoft has continually advanced since then to get more realistic weapons with better performance. This allows for greater realism and as such more fun. Airsoft pellets are 6mm plastic ball bearings these do not contain paint and as such there is no mess. The size difference in the BB’s means that the pain is considerably less. Being hit by a BB feels like being whacked with an elastic band and the pain only lasts a few seconds.
With our covered safe zone, lunch included, site shop, male and female toilets, we have all your airsoft needs catered for. Please feel free to come in to our shop in Littlehampton any time for a chat. You can also find us on Facebook and ask one of our friendly community a question or just make yourself known.
Please note our site is located within the South Downs National Park and as such only Biodegradable BB’s can be used to protect the environment.
Timings for the day -
• Please arrive on site from - 8am (Bacon rolls available for £1 until 9am)
• Rentals can arrive at 9am as they will only need to be here for the safety brief.
• Rental Safety Brief - 9.30am
• Main Safety Brief - 9.45am
• Morning Game Start - 10.15am
• Lunch - 1pm
• Afternoon Games Start - 2pm
• End of day - 4pm to 5pm depending on weather.
All times noted above depend on all players arriving promptly and being at the safety brief. Any players that arrive late or miss the safety brief will be held back and given a private brief. This may result in you missing the first game. Timings of the day may change depending on how everyone is feeling and the weather conditions.
Clothing Requirements / Recommendations -
• Sturdy footwear. Hiking boots or any boot that protects your ankles are suggested as the ground found within the forest is uneven and there may be holes you might not see.
• Trousers. Preferably old ones or a pair you don’t mind getting dirty as during the winter the site can be quite wet and you will get muddy.
• Long sleeve tops are preferred as they provide a bit of protection from the pellets used.
• A spare set of clothing and shoes could be useful to change into at the end of the day as you don’t want to go home wet and cold.
As mentioned above, these are only recommendations however please remember that this is a woodland site. This means there is uneven ground, mud, water, and the rest of nature. Please don’t come wearing your fancy white trainers as they will get ruined, the same goes with clothes.
Fitness requirements -
Airsoft is an intense sport; you will be out all day in the forest wearing heavy gear and carrying round a heavy weapon. This will wear you down over the day, the best thing to do is take it slow and enjoy yourself taking on plenty of fluids throughout the day. Make sure you get a good rest the night before and eat plenty in the morning to give you the energy you require.
Don’t let this scare you though there are plenty of us there that are not in the best of shape and it will be some of the best fun you’ll ever have. The joy of airsoft is that you can take the day at your own pace, you can run free or take it slow. If you have any worries or issues, please speak to one of the marshals or owners before the day begins so we can support you in any way you need.
Code of conduct whilst on site -
We are a very friendly site and have some excellent players that visit us. Everyone is happy to talk and answer any questions you may have airsoft related or not. We love banter on site, in fact we heavily promote it. We use the safe word “Cucumber” on site which can be used when the banter is getting to much for you or if you are unhappy with what’s being said. Please stick to banter and don’t be rude or offensive. Please follow all the rules mentioned in the safety brief and follow any rules set by the marshals during the day. Anyone found breaking these rules will be spoken to and given a warning. Any further rule breaking will lead to the potential of missing games or being removed from the site. These rules are in place to protect all players and marshals, not to mention yourself. Any abusive, violent or threatening behaviour will not be tolerated, and you will be banned from our site.
Come along and have a wonderful day in a fun and friendly environment.
