Printmaking is a traditional technique which has transformed into a contemporary medium for unique artwork. Linocut involves drawing and carving into lino, prior to inking and printing on our press.
This course is an introduction and continuing practice in linocut printmaking.
This workshop will cover:
-the importance of composition
-transferring image to lino
-Cutting your block
-Inking the block using various colour techniques
-Printing and editioning

Lino block (A4 or similar)
Creative ideas to print –in mirror image
4B/6B pencil and eraser (used for transferring image to lino)
Tracing paper
Graphite stick
metal ruler
Vivid marker pen
Scissors
Craft knife
masking tape
Cutting tools
1 tube of waterbased printing ink
We will provide A4 copy paper but if you want better quality you can bring
either Cartridge paper (an A4 or A3 pad is fine)
OR Fabriano 300gsm paper
Old towel cloth for clean up
If you have a favorite roller, bring that, but we will also have some rollers available
Please also bring your lunch, tea and coffee available
