Stable Mind Yoga
Owner - Kat

Firstly, welcome to my page everyone! I’m Kathryn, I live in rural Hertfordshire with my husband, three kids and an array of animals. The things I love most are life’s simple pleasures; family, food, animals, being outdoors and of course my passion for yoga.
My love of yoga started over 15 years ago when I was pregnant with my second child. I was going through a particular stressful and difficult period and I wanted to try and help ease that. I remember feeling quite nervous when I walked into that first class, not quite knowing what to expect but within minutes of being there I knew this was the place I needed to be. I was very lucky to have a wonderful teacher to guide me. Yoga helped me tremendously with the rest of my pregnancy and the birth of my son. I went on and continued to establish a regular yoga practice, as I found the benefits helped me on so many different levels. I felt physically stronger and more flexible, I was able to manage my stress better and I learnt how to relax. Most importantly, I felt more content and aware of my whole self.

In 2011 with the encouragement and support of my family and my teacher, I embarked on my yoga teacher training. I decided to train with BWY (British Wheel of Yoga) which is the governing body of yoga training in the UK. It was a comprehensive course that covered all parts of yoga in detail such as asana (postures), meditation, pranayama (breath work), mantra and the beautiful philosophy of yoga which has been passed down from teacher to student for thousands of years. I have furthered my training to include specific pranayama courses, mindfulness training and on-going personal development.

Stable Mind Yoga is a style of yoga that has evolved with me over the years. I like to teach a combination of vinyasa (flowing between postures) and static postures. This enables us not to become overwhelmed with stillness, lets the energy move through us and then when we are ready, we can pause, reflect and breathe. The breath is the bridge between the mind and body. When you feel this union, it allows us to be aware of our spirit.

The sessions I teach incorporate postures, breath work, meditation and relaxation to give you a full yogic experience.
