Positive support strategies are not just for people who have "challenging" behaviors! Everyone requires positive support strategies (PSS) that are individually assessed and developed. These PSS are vital to ensuring people receive high quality and effective care. Come learn how to write PSS comprehensively and compliantly by assessing each person, recognizing their strengths and abilities, and documenting person-centered supports to encourage their journey to a meaningful life!

Course Objectives:

  • Understand what positive support strategies are and where the regulations come from
  • Learn the steps to develop positive support strategies
  • Recognize person-centered tools that enable greater understanding of who the person is
  • Develop writing techniques to ensure positive supports strategies are person-centered, clear, comprehensive, and compliant
