All 245D licensed programs are required to have a Designated Coordinator (DC) and Designated Manager (DM). The DC and DM at your agency need to have a clear understanding of the requirements in MN Statutes, chapter 245D and MN Rules, chapter 9544 to ensure compliance while providing person-centered supports. The Designated Coordinator and Manager Development Program™ (DCDP) is an interactive course designed to help participants gain the knowledge, confidence, and skills necessary to be a successful DC and DM!

Although this course does not waive the education and experience requirements of the Designated Coordinator and Designated Manager in MN Statutes, chapter 245D, it gives the attendees a comprehensive understanding of 245D regulations and how to implement them at your agency.

Participants will receive detailed instruction, sample plans and forms, and a full binder filled with resources! Opportunities for asking questions of a consultant as well as networking with each other are highlights of DCDP!

The course includes six half-day virtual sessions. Participants will learn:

  • Minnesota Regulations: Review of MN Statutes, chapter 245D and MN Rules, chapter 9544. Resources highlighted include Office of the Revisor of Statutes and the Community-Based Services Manual
  • Document and Support Development: Individual Abuse Prevention Plans, Outcomes, Progress Reports, Self-Management Assessments, Coordinated Service and Support Plan Addendums, Incident Reports, Internal Reviews, and maltreatment reporting and review
  • Meeting and Review Facilitation: Admission through annual meeting requirements, service suspension and service termination standards, progress reviews, and PC meeting facilitation
  • Behavioral Interventions: Emergency Use of Manual Restraint (EUMR), Positive Support Transition Plans (PSTPs), and Rights and Rights Restrictions
  • Person-Centered Topics: Positive Support Strategies, PC tools, PC thinking, language, and actions
  • Additional Topics: DC/DM job duties, staff training requirements, resources to remain up-to-date on MN regulations

Participants will leave DCDP filled with understanding, awareness, and knowledge on the steps to gain and maintain necessary compliance throughout their career as a DC or DM!
