As a licensed provider, you support some of the most vulnerable people needing a variety of assistance. Having well-qualified, person-centered, and competent employees is vital this providing the best support. Your role as a supervisor, manager, or executive is at the heart of all of this. The first year of employment is pivotal for the employee to feel equipped and able to provide amazing services. This session will focus on a person's first year of employment starting at the very beginning: recruitment.

Topics will include:

  • Basics of recruiting
  • Interviewing
  • Offering/hiring
  • Employee orientation and onboarding
  • Performance reviews
  • Discipline and termination general guidelines and considerations

This class is designed for providers who may not have an official "Human Resources Department." Being compliant to employment law is important! Yet ensuring that our staff feel welcomed, valued, and edified is also important! Come and see how you can help to positively shape each employee's first year of employment.
