Family forest school at Haltwhistle is back - and this time, we're offering a 2-hour session!
Thursday morning sessions for parents/carers with their under 7s, from 10 am - 12 pm, at Riverside Park next to Haltwhistle train station.
The sessions will be running from the 1st of March for 4 consecutive weeks.
Play games, learn about nature, develop gross and fine motor skills, splash in the mud, relax in a hammock, build dens, listen to stories, sing songs, firelight and cook, develop and grow as a family and as a community.
We can offer free spaces to families as we are lucky to be part-funded by the Haltwhistle community fund. We are offering a sliding scale for places (free, half-price, and full-price tickets) to support the continuation of the group. We are keen to keep the sessions free for those who need it. It’s really important to us that those who face barriers to accessing sessions are supported to attend our groups. If you would like/are able to pay for a half/full price ticket then we are really grateful as this will help keep our sessions free for those who need it. We also understand that many families are facing difficulties at the moment so there is absolutely no pressure to pay. *Please only book if you can commit to the full course of five sessions *

We will be in the woods come rain or shine, and will be encouraging exploration and messy play. Children and supervising adults should dress appropriately for the weather and the activities taking place. For example, layers of clothes to keep warm (even in the sun, it can get cold under the shade of the trees), wellies or walking boots, waterproof all in ones or waterproof jacket and trousers. If it is warm, please still wear long sleeves to protect arms and legs. We only cancel if wind speeds exceed 30mph so keep your eye on the weather. In the rare event of cancellation, an alternative date will be offered.
