Beginner Garment Making: Ogden Tank Top - Adult Workshop - Ages 17 and up - For Strong Beginners

Looking to learn garment making? This is the perfect pattern to get started! You'll learn how to cut out a pattern and transfer markings, how to follow a pattern, facings, straps, and hemming. The Ogden Cami by True Bias is the perfect tank to layer with your spring sweaters as we move into warmer weather!

This class is for strong beginners, meaning you're comfortable with basic threading and operation of your sewing machine and have sewn some simple projects. Supplies:

• Ogden Cami pattern included. (We will cut out pattern pieces in class)
• Pre-washed and dried fabric. Fabric yardage is between 1-2yds, depending on size. We will be making the woven fabric of the top in this class. Recommended fabrics: Lightweight woven fabrics such as crepe, rayon challis, voile, and lightweight linen. We recommend cotton lawn or linen for beginners! Please shop for fabric in advance, so you have time to wash and dry it before class.
• Coordinating thread
• Universal needles

You may bring the following tools or borrow ours:

• Fabric scissors or rotary cutter, mat, and pattern weights
• Removable marking tool
• Small scissors or snips
• Seam ripper
• Pins or clips

Teacher: Katrina has been sewing since she was a kid and started altering her clothes in middle school. After a long break from sewing she's rediscovered her passion and enjoys making garments, bags, quilts and more! She moved to Austin in 2012 and has been teaching Pilates since. She is currently taking Fashion Design classes at ACC.

Students receive a 10% discount for supplies at Beehive Craft Studio. Be sure to shop at least one day prior to class, so you have time to look around and pre-wash your fabric.

CLASS POLICIES
o Your spot will not be reserved in the class until payment is made in full.
o All students or their Parents/Guardians must sign a waiver before participating in class activities. This should be provided as a check box in your checkout process.
o This class has a 4 person minimum. Class may be cancelled if minimum is not met 48 hours prior to class.
o Beehive Craft Studio reserves the right to cancel a class at any time.
If we do so, you'll be issued a full refund.
o Inclement Weather Policy: We reserve the right to cancel class if we deem that weather would make traveling to class dangerous. Every attempt will be made to schedule a makeup for the missed class.

o Mask Policy: All students are strongly encouraged to wear masks during workshop time if there is a student or teacher requesting masks.

o No refunds for no-shows or cancellations within 48 hours of workshop. Refunds will be processed online within 48 hours of cancellation with the funds going back to your method of payment.
o Everyone works at different speeds and while we expect everyone to finish by the end of the workshop we can't guarantee it!
