This immersive outdoor workshop explores how nature can support children’s mental health and emotional wellbeing. Through discussion, research insights, and hands‑on activities, you’ll learn practical ways to use nature connection to build confidence, resilience, and calm in the children you work with.

What You’ll Experience
• A guided discussion on what mental health means for children and how it affects behaviour, learning, and relationships.
• An introduction to the science behind nature’s impact on stress, mood, and emotional regulation.
• A mindful walk through the ancient yews, including forest‑bathing invitations and sensory awareness practices.
• Practical nature‑connection activities you can use with children
• Exploration of the Five Ways to Wellbeing and how they translate into outdoor settings.
• Ideas for conservation‑based “giving back” activities that build purpose and belonging.
• Tools and approaches for monitoring the impact of outdoor experiences on children’s wellbeing.

• A water bottle
• A packed lunch
• Sturdy, enclosed footwear
• Waterproof clothing
• We’ll also be cooking a tasty snack over the fire, so dress for outdoor activities.
