Create & Connect Adults Online Block 8- Mixed Media

Join Fiona for a block of different projects each week involving a range of art and craft materials. Take time out of your busy week for yourself to create and connect with yourself. In the comfort of your own home, with your favourite refreshments take time to explore materials you may have otherwise never explored and have fun discovering more about your creative side (we've all got one!). No level of ability expected, arrive with an open mind ready to enjoy the holistic wellbeing benefits of creativity!

There are 8 weeks in the block and the 8th week is free. For this final week you may join me in person, online or I can record it for those who wish. Any week you are unable to attend I can record the session and only I will be seen/heard in this- no participants will be seen in any recordings.

We will start with some doodling for dopamine. Different relaxing drawing exercises each week whilst getting into a place of relaxation and calm, ready for our main project.

Each week we will carry out a different creative project with no prior experience required. Equally, if you're a seasoned artist/crafter you can take each project to as high a level of challenge as you wish. The focus, however, is on enjoying the materials in the moment, seeing success as being on the creative journey rather than the end result. This is what we will create each week (main materials provided):

Week 1: Bright, bold, joyful collage- enjoy some intuitive collage, playing with lots of beautiful collage materials to make a piece that represents joy for you.

Week 2: Trio of watercolour mini paintings- enjoy the materials and create 3 different small pieces.

Week 3: Air dry clay miniatures- using mess-free air dry foam clay (easy to mould), create miniature creations that you can also add colour to.

Week 4: Drawing people in an illustrative style- have fun with me exploring different ways of drawing illustrative people, so that you can create your own unique characters. We will cut them out and stick them on a simple background scene using washes of colours with our watercolours.

Week 5: Embroidery hoop bead design. Create a fun, bright, modern design using a range of beads and appliqués

Week 6: Exploring gouache techniques- enjoy exploring this versatile paint creating modern art works

Week 7: Shell decoupage trinket dishes- use beautiful decoupage papers, gold and black inks to create a trio of trinket dishes that can be used as a decoration or to hold small items such as earrings/ hair clips

Week 8: In person, online or via a recording, enjoy some still life drawing and sketching using different items. If you are joining us online, I will send you a digital image of the items we will be drawing.
