Join us for an interactive, practical session designed to develop a deeper understanding of professional skin analysis and how the information we gather should influence our product and treatment choices.

This session moves beyond simply identifying a skin type. We will look at what is happening within the skin, why we are seeing particular signs and how this links directly to anatomy, physiology, product selection and treatment planning.

What We’ll Cover

🔬 Skin Analyser Pod Demonstration
See a professional skin analyser in action and explore how technology can help identify concerns that may not always be obvious through visual and tactile analysis alone.

🧬 Anatomy – Looking Beneath the Skin
Take an in-depth look at relevant skin anatomy and physiology and learn how to connect what you see during analysis with what may be happening within the epidermis, dermis and underlying tissues.

We will link observations such as dehydration, pigmentation, vascular changes, congestion, ageing, loss of elasticity and texture changes back to the structures and functions of the skin.

🧴 Ingredients & Active Ingredients
Explore commonly used skincare actives and understand why, when and for whom we would select them.

Rather than simply recommending a product, we will consider:

What have we identified? → What is happening within the skin? → Which active could influence it? → Why?

💭 Making Professional Decisions
Skin analysis isn't just about collecting information – it's about knowing what to do with it.

We will work through how to interpret findings and use them to make informed decisions about homecare, professional treatments and treatment priorities.

⚙️ Choosing Facial Technologies & Treatments
Discuss different facial machines and technologies and how treatment selection should be influenced by the client's individual skin.

We will consider what the technology is targeting within the tissue, the physiological effect we are trying to achieve and whether it is appropriate for the concern identified.
