We are delighted to be welcoming much-loved actress Carol Drinkwater to Dulverton, journeying to the Festival especially from her home in the South of France. Carol is perhaps still most familiar to audiences worldwide for her award-winning portrayal of Helen Herriot in the original BBC series 'All Creatures Great and Small'. A popular and acclaimed author and film-maker as well, Carol has published over twenty books, including the bestselling series of memoirs recounting her experiences on her Provencal farm, 'The Olive Tree'. Her latest novel, released in July 2025, is 'One Summer in Provence', a story of betrayal and belonging, and of discovering love in unexpected places.
Sunday Times bestselling author Veronica Henry returns to Dulverton with her dazzlingly romantic new novel, also set in beautiful Provence. 'One Night at the Chateau' is a warm, lavender-filled delight from start to finish.
Carol and Veronica will be in conversation with bestselling historical novelist Kate Lord Brown. Her latest title 'The Golden Hour 'has attracted international praise since its launch this year. The book draws on Kate’s intimate knowledge of the Middle East – a sweeping romantic story set in 1930s Cairo and 1970s 'Paris of the East' Beirut. An epic dual timeline story moving from the cities to the deserts; a transporting tale of a lost generation transformed by war and a study of great love and sacrifice in all its forms.
The name of the person who booked the ticket(s) will be on the door for this talk. If it is possible to bring printed confirmation of your booking that would be appreciated.
