This is a three-day immersive learning experience designed to prepare volunteers to engage effectively, ethically, and compassionately with women veterans and the systems that support them. Grounded in trauma-informed, human-centred, and strengths-based principles, the training equips volunteers with practical strategies for building trust, fostering psychological safety, and responding to the diverse experiences of women veterans who may be navigating multiple intersections of trauma.
Through experiential learning, reflective practice, case studies, and applied skill-building, volunteers will develop the confidence and competence to support women veterans with empathy, cultural humility, and an understanding of the complex systems that influence their well-being. Participants will leave with actionable tools for creating meaningful connections, recognizing trauma responses, navigating community resources, and contributing to a supportive and empowering Connect-Her community.
