The Glowing Ember - A Father & Son Camp

• Join Journey Wild in the woods on an overnight father & son bushcraft & nature connection experience.

• We believe that time spent with father's & father figures out in nature, under the sky, by the fire, and learning skills through craft is a valuable way for young people to foster connection.

• Come along to the woods, settle in by the fire, and engage with loved ones and likeminded people. We will connect to the elements together, through play, craft and nature observation.

• This experience is designed specifically for male pairs: fathers, father figures, carers or mentors attending with a boy (son, nephew, or child in their care).

• We recommend a 1:1 adult-to-child ratio. If you’d like to attend with more than one child, please contact us in advance to discuss.

This may include:

• Stalking games in the woods
• Arrow making project - including pressure flaking the flint arrowhead, whittling the arrow shaft, and attaching flights - all as a team
• Fire lighting
• Nature sit spots

Practicals:

• Camping included (own camping gear required)
• Food - an evening meal on the Saturday and lunch on the Sunday are provided, with hot drinks available throughout. Other than this please bring along all food and drink items you would like.
• Compost toilets, washing up station, hot shower available.
• Flat grassy area for camping.
• Timing: Access to land and setup from 12pm, gathering to begin at 2pm. Event closes at 3pm on the following day (Sunday), with departures by 5pm.
• Ages 8+. All children must be under the direct supervision of their parent/carer at all times, particularly during tool use and fire activities.
