These lessons are a set of 3 sessions that will focus on providing you with a foundation to enhance your confidence in the sea. You must be able to swim, any stroke and any standard. These sessions are designed to provide you with sea safety advice and encourage you to push past your nerves and learn how to enjoy the sea responsibly.
This is a course of 3 x 45 minute sessions aimed at swimmers who would like learn to the basics of swimming in the sea. The groups are small. Don't be nervous, we all started somewhere and our swim coaches are warm and welcoming.
PLEASE NOTE - You must be able to put your face in the water, float and swim 2 lengths any stroke any style to join this course.
This course is particularly suitable if you are anxious about starting your swimming journey and would like to improve your confidence in the water.

THIS IS YOUR SWIMMING LESSON!
All swimmers learn at their own pace. There is no pressure to progress between groups and courses. We all swim our own swim. The most important thing is to enjoy your swimming journey.
All of our sessions and lessons are led by qualified and insured Swim Teachers and Open Water coaches who have a wealth of experience and a passion for making swimming accessible to all.
We teach in small groups with a focus on building confidence in our swimmers. We provide a warm and welcoming environment for you to feel comfortable and learn. We will gently encourage you on your journey towards your swim goals and help you realise your potential, however well-hidden it may be!
The course includes;
Practical Knowledge; understanding tides, currents, wind, waves and hazards.
Preparing for a swim: kit, acclimitisaion, risk assessing
Learning to relax in the water
Practise exercises and stretches
Lots of laughter

All of our lessons and sessions are non-refundable and non- exchangeable. All requests will be politely declined. Please make sure you are available to attend at the time of booking and that you meet the swim ability course requirements. It is really important that our customers understand this and you will be asked to confirm you've understood our Terms and Conditions when you book.

THE SUPER IMPORTANT STUFF to make your session comfortable and safe! Please read carefully and ensure you have all of the required kit.
The sea sessions are 1 hour - you will not be in the water for the full duration. Please ensure you wrap up warming for learning on the beach as well as in the water. They take place on the beach in front of King Alfred Leisure Centre for 3 consecutive weeks. The is a council carpark and public toilets close by.
For the sea session you will need,
Goggles, brightly coloured swim hat, swim suit, tow float if you have one, neoprene accessories of your choices including gloves, socks, wetsuits and lots of warm layers to change into after the swim. We cannot over emphasis enough the need for warmth both in and out of the water and you will be changing on the beach. If you are unacclimatised to sea temperature wear a wetsuit! Bring lots of warm layers, wooly hat, hot water bottles for the beach session and after your swim. Even in the summer month you get cold! Also bring water, a hot drink and a snack.
You will need to pay to park on the seafront
If sea conditions do not allow us to run the session safely we may change location to Kingston Beach in Shoreham. Decisions can be made at short notice and your safety is our priority. Please be aware of this at the time of booking.
