Pleated Skirt Workshop (8-14 yrs)

Spend three creative days with us designing and making your own pleated skirt — a timeless piece with a modern twist ✨

Students will work from our brand new pattern to create a beautifully structured skirt, learning how to sew crisp box pleats, attach a waistband, hem neatly, and topstitch for a professional finish. There’s also the option to add a side zip and elasticated back, depending on style preferences, time, and sewing experience. For those looking for something a little different, you can even add shorts underneath to create a skort.

While the design may look simple, this project is a fantastic way to build accuracy, precision, and patience — helping to develop strong technical sewing skills in a supportive environment. It’s suitable for beginners as well as returning students, with plenty of guidance throughout.

Students will choose from a range of mid-weight woven fabrics such as cottons and linens, ideal for holding the shape of the pleats. There’s also the option to personalise your design by adjusting the length or adding details like lace and decorative finishes, depending on time.

A perfect project for creating something stylish, wearable, and uniquely your own.
