Basic Life Saving Training For Volunteers - Voluntary Sector Support

Be prepared for emergency situations, join us for a half-day training course on Basic Life Saving.

You will receive an Ofqual Regulated Qualification which lasts for 3 years, as well as a manual and certificate.

What does this course cover?
• Conducting a scene survey
• Conducting a primary survey on a casualty
• Identifying when to administer CPR
• Demonstrating CPR using an adult manakin
• Demonstrating safe use of an AED
• When and how to place a casualty in the recovery position
• Recognising suspected anaphylaxis and administering first aid for this

What Qualification will you get?
The Qualsafe Level 3 Award in Adult BLS, AED and Management of Anaphylaxis (RQF) is designed for people who have a specific interest or responsibility at work, or in voluntary and community activities, to provide BLS interventions, safely use an AED and manage a casualty suffering from anaphylaxis. Successful learners will develop the practical competencies needed to provide BLS, safely use an AED and manage a casualty with anaphylaxis.

Deposit information
We will take a £10 deposit to secure your place on this training course. Your deposit will be refunded if:
• You attend the training course.
• You cancel your place with more than 48 hours’ notice.

We cannot refund your deposit if:
• You cancel with less than 48 hours’ notice.
• You do not show up on the day of the training.

There is a small car park on site, but this can get busy. There is street parking available nearby, but there are parking restrictions on some of the roads, so do make sure you check them. Alternatively, you can park in one of the town centre car parks and walk to the centre. Who can book?
This training is for charities, community groups, and not-for-profit organisations working in the Horsham District.

As there are only 12 places available, bookings are limited to 2 people per organisation to allow as many groups as possible to access the training. If you'd like more people from your organisation to book on, please let us know and we will put you on a list to contact if we still have spaces left nearer the time.
