🚁 Devon Air Ambulance – Talk for Children

We’re so excited to share that Devon Air Ambulance will be joining us at Eli House to deliver a special age-appropriate talk for children - giving our home-educated community the chance to experience the kind of enrichment often offered in mainstream schools.
This session has been kindly approved for up to 20 children, so booking is essential.
What the session will include
While each volunteer presents slightly differently, the session is expected to include:
A friendly introduction from the Devon Air Ambulance team
A short school presentation or video (chosen to suit the group)
Ambrose Teddy 🧸 – learning how he accompanies every flight and is gifted to children they help
An interactive element, where children can try on uniforms and pilot helmets
Sticker hand-outs at the end of the session
👉 Please note: the helicopter will not be attending — it’s busy doing what it does best and saving lives!
Important information
🕥 Time: 10:30–12:30
👨👩👧 Parents must stay on site and remain responsible for their children at all times
☕ We’ll provide tea, coffee, squash and some light nibbles
🧒 All ages of children are welcome
👥 Limited to 20 children only
Most of the session will be dedicated to the talk, with a short opportunity to socialise afterwards.
Pricing (please read carefully)
💷 £6 per child
✔️ Adults attend free
⚠️ This session is priced per child, which is different to our usual family pricing. This covers the additional admin and organisation involved in arranging this special event.

Parents and carers remain responsible for their children at all times.
Please stay present and nearby, particularly with younger children or those who may need extra support.
We ask that children treat the space, resources, and each other with care and kindness.
Creating a welcoming environment
We aim for a calm, respectful atmosphere — please be mindful of noise levels and personal space.
Everyone is welcome here. We ask that conversations and behaviour remain inclusive, respectful, and non-judgemental.
Some children (and adults!) may need breaks, quiet time, or space — that’s absolutely okay.
Practical bits
Please tidy up after yourselves where possible and encourage children to do the same.
Drinks are welcome — please be mindful of spills.
If anything feels unclear or you need support during the session, one of us will always be nearby — just ask.
Most importantly…
There’s no “right” way to attend a YCSWU session. You don’t need to talk to everyone, stay for the whole time, or make instant friends. Turning up is enough.
