This reflective and experiential workshop explores the Klesha—the five obstacles that veil our clarity and connection: avidya (ignorance), asmita (ego), raga (attachment), dvesa (aversion), and abhinivesa (fear).
Through a mindful blend of asana (postures), nyasa (placing awareness within the body), mudra (gestures that channel energy), pranayama (breathwork), and meditation, participants will journey inward to recognise and soften these subtle patterns. Each movement becomes a prayer of awareness, each breath a step toward freedom.
The physiological, emotional, and energetic layers of the practice will be explored together, cultivating presence and understanding both the Sanskrit roots in Patanjalis sutras and the lived meaning of the Kleshas within modern life.
Kara Gray
For over nine years, Kara has been teaching Hatha Yoga within the lineage of Krishnamacharya and his son T.K.V. Desikachar. A 500-hour BWY-trained teacher, she continues her studies under the guidance of her mentor, remaining dedicated to sharing yoga as a living, evolving tradition.
Her time in India deepened her appreciation for the true essence of yoga - an integrated practice that weaves together movement, breath, chanting, and philosophy as pathways into daily life.
In her classes, Kara guides students to move with awareness, breathe with intention and embody yoga beyond the mat. Her teaching invites self-inquiry, compassion and authenticity, offering yoga as a journey of connection, transformation and inner clarity.
Equipment required: yoga mat and blanket. Please bring any supports needed to sit comfortably for pranayama and meditation.
