Ashtanga Yoga is a traditional style of Yoga that links movement to breath in order to build both strength and flexbility in the body. Practicing a set routine of postures, this is usually a self practice style of yoga, with adjustments and individual assistance offered throughout the class and new poses are given one by one as the student becomes ready to progess.
In this two hour session, Zoë will lead us through the Ashtanga Primary Series of movemements, offering some break out workshop style segments along the way on the vinyasas, headstands, correct breathing etc.
This session will be suitable for all levels and is beginner friendly.
Zoë Porter is a Yoga Alliance Professionals Senior Yoga Teacher and Teacher Trainer living and teaching in Lymington and the surrounding area of the New Forest. She trained to teach Ashtanga Yoga under Brian Cooper over a decade ago, and has been an Ashtanga Yoga practitioner for the past 14 years. She considers herself a student first and foremost and has continued to study and train with a variety of experienced senior teachers in Ashtanga, Rocket, and Vinyasa Krama, as well as gaining thousands of hours of teaching experience.
Zoë is a free spirit with a love for body art and spiritualism. She believes strongly in the benefits of dynamic Vinyasa practice and making it accessible to real world students at the level that they are currently, whilst also maintaining structure and a methodical and progressive approach that delivers results.
