Details

Dr Janet Chelliah, a Sheffield GP with over 30 years experience in the NHS.
Wife and Mum of 2 daughters aged 24 and 18. Janet still works in the NHS as a GP, she is also a person with lived experience at Hallam University , a Templespa Skincare Consultant and Carer.
Janet recently started 2 voluntary roles with CCLG Children and Young People’s Cancer Association and North Star Cancer Collective.

Kirsty has Down Syndrome and is 5 years in remission from leukaemia.

Janet has been involved in making a film ‘Breaking Glass Ceilings’ and published a book ‘Our Family’s Journey Through Disability and Cancer’ to help raise disability awareness.

March is a significant month as it is International Women’s Day, Mother’s Day and World Down syndrome day on the 21st.
Janet’s talk will be about her parenting journey from pregnancy to adulthood, the many roles of a carer and how disabled people can change society in a positive way
