Sunday Clay Club - six week hand building course with Michelle

Sunday Clay Club is a six-week hand building course for complete beginners, running from mid July through to the end of August. Each session is two hours, and by the end you’ll have a small body of work — pinched, coiled, slab-built and glazed — that you made entirely yourself. Week by week you’ll work through the core hand building techniques, finishing with your own pieces bisque fired, decorated with underglaze, and glaze fired in our kiln. You collect everything at the end. No experience needed. Just turn up.

1. Meet the Clay — pinching and getting started
   
2. Slabs and Surfaces — rolling, texture, score and slip
   
3. Building Up — coil building and form
   
4. Form and Function — your own project, bisque firing theory
   
5. Decorating Bisque — underglaze and dipping
   
6. Transparent Glaze and Kiln Loading — finishing and firing
