Here to teach the fundamentals of balance, turns, shuffles and spins, experienced roller skate instructor Kelvin will walk you through each of these skills, coming all the way from Chicago to coach people on his smooth "JB style" skating!
JB (James Brown) skating originated in the USA and got its name from the music and rhythm used to make the most of the techniques and style this method imparts, being built around utilizing co-ordinated movements and fancy footwork all while in motion going around the rink.
In addition, purchasing a ticket for this workshop includes a ticket to the 8pm-11pm disco running afterwards.
Please arrive at least 5-10 minutes before your lesson time in order to check-in and get your skates on. Lessons will run from 6pm to 8pm, with the disco running from 8pm to 11pm.
We advise that you wear comfortable and flexible clothing. You may be chilly on arrival but will quickly get warm when skating, so outer layers that can also be removed are of benefit. Please bring a drink for refreshment or these can be purchased from our vending machines or skatepark counter during your session.
